A Police Sergeant, MatÂthew Elah, connected to the Department of Op­erations, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been paraded by men of the Abia State Police ComÂmand for supposedly escorting suspected looters.
The suspect, who hails from Uba people group in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, was captured folÂlowing a tipoff after a theft episode at Akwette in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.
The Commissioner of PoÂlice, Mr. Leye Oyebade, who paraded the suspect close by others on Monday in UmuaÂhia, said he was captured afÂter a report that some policeÂmen burglarized and grabbed a cruiser from its proprietor at Umuteke Junction in Akwette.
He said the speculate conÂfessed to have perpetrated the wrongdoing with another Police SerÂgeant, Isah Alhaji, of 48 Police Mobile Force, Ahoda, Rivers State, who is presently on the run.
Oyebade said endeavors were on to recoup the stolen motorÂcycle, including that the suspect will soon be charged.
